Yes. I feel sad about having the experiences to come to this conclusion about it.

I rally to the side of the underdog. Someone say something bad about someone or something, I want to hear that side and be disproved. But in this instance, with these people, I'm just not finding it, and it appears to be getting worse.

I tend to ignore immigration discussions because I do not want to fall into the trap of assuming a persons character by what groups they belong to. Of course I am troubled by religious fundamentalism, but I am always skeptical that the media might be overstating the problem for various reasons.

Assuming the problem is as bad as I keep hearing, and not just a media beat up, I think it would be fruitful to examine government and EU immigration policy, treaty obligations regarding immigration etc, and find out what they're really up to.

You shouldn't have to put up with gang members like that outside your house. I'm not sure what you could do about that, though.

I've seen what YourMajesty is talking about, but I purposely only used my own experiences as a male.

That's the problem, it's not "gang members", it's men and women from all ages that accept and protect the behaviour, and copy it the more secure they feel about it "being okay". My cousin is a school teacher who has to deal weekly with 11 year old boys telling her they don't have to listen to her because she's a blonde whore and worth less than them. The parents don't do anything about it and the school can't kick them off because no school will take them and there's mandatory learning for children here.

It's easy to blend into the diverse (looking) Dutch society, it takes effort to stand out, and those "we" see as part of this group take that effort. It's not just a single nationality, it's several that have formed a subculture that has a "role" for all ages and people that want to be part of it.
