Forever tortured by Asperger's
I've literally been on this message board for over 10 years. There have been times when it's been suggested by mental health people, therapists and doctors, I might have AS, but being female and the fact that what is now diagnosed as "unspecified bipolar" is what they are rightfully concerned about, I'm not getting the closure that I seek. Yes I have strong special interests, meltdowns and poor people skills, and given the AQ test and RAADS by therapists put me in the mild ASD area, and aspie quiz calls me an aspie, lol, but I'm not "settled" in my mind on the matter. The mental health professionals that say I'm on the spectrum almost all said I'm either too high functioning to diagnose or the bipolar was more important... I just can't leave it alone though, what do I do?
Edit: I'll add to this... once i was in patient at a psych ward where a psych doc decided to read all my records including some from when I was a child, and observe my behavior interacting with people. She explained to me she felt my true diagnosis was not Schizoaffective but rather Childhood Onset Bipolar/Asperger's. She said however the autism might have been diagnosable as a child especially since I went through social skills therapy and everything, but as an adult I had gained enough skills to be undiagnosable, but she claimed someone familiar with AS could tell I had it. But why can't I be satisfied a doc told me that? Why do I feel I need a dx?

10 years from now you'll look at the time you wasted talking to strangers on the internet and be upset
humans, especially aspies were not "designed" or 'evolved" for a world with cell phones tv internet etc. These are all fairly new things. You dont even need a facebook lift some heavy ass weights and youll feel better
