I could’ve sworn you talked about getting kicked out for a fight a couple years ago.

You seem to mention a lot of comments too although you say that there haven’t been that many.

Can you think of other places you could meet people? Are there other things you like to do?

I was probably making that up about the fight

That's not an offer btw

When I was 17 my brother said to me “Whatever area of life you participate in you will face prejudice” and also “You will be competing against people who don’t give a f**k who you are”

Why would you do that?

Most women find lying a bigger red flag than being jobless.

What does he mean by not giving a “f**k who I am?”

They don't care that you have autism and that you need special attention...and that is the sad truth of it

That's why when you come here people want to offer support because you don't really get it in real life

Tell me then why pubs are not great places to socialise?

You don’t seem to have had much success with them as far as romance goes. When something isn’t working for you, it’s good to try something else. Bars and clubs aren’t right for me, so I don’t go to them.

In general, no one gives a f**k who anyone is when they're in public.
They care about their close friends.
Everyone else is just a random person who doesn't matter to them.

It doesn't mean they hate you.
It means people don't focus on us as much as we think they do.

We all meet some real pricks in our lives.
That's basic life advice which could be given to anyone.

Back to your OP question, has anything we've said in this thread answered your question or helped?

I disagree, especially if the person has a known disability or reason for not working. Of course some people might find it objectionable but not everyone, and I'd hope it's not the people Jamesy considers friends.

I did say "can be fairly hostile" - to allow for exceptions in my comment.

There's evidence of hostility towards unemployed people everywhere.

I have seen articles in news media, written by disabled people, saying they feel as though they are treated like scroungers by society for claiming disability benefits.

I have seen in the mainstream media, on news channels and in written news media, people who complain about there being a mental health crisis and that there are (supposedly) people on disability benefits that don't need to be who are simply experiencing the 'normal' anxieties of life.

The conservative government and ministers regularly imply that people are needlessly on disability benefits and should "get a job" and often try to wrap the message in some feel-good notion like "work is beneficial for mental health".
