My crush has a brother with LOW-Functioning Autism..?
A girl who has a brother with low-functioning autism? Would she understand my challenges better? Her mother even started an autism school for my crush's brother... But would it be no different because her brother has low functioning autism, while I have Asperger's Syndrome? One of us can't talk or function, and the other can? I was hoping my crush would tolerate some of my challenges better since her brother has autism....
This can either work for or against you. Some women might get offended when you relate the challenges you have to other autistics she might even not even believe you are autistic yourself because she might have a specific view of autism in her mind.
Or she might be cool with it.
Some studies out there show men who reveal their diagnosis late in life in a trouble marriage this can help repair what has happened. Cause if she truly cares she'll understand the cause and you don't mean harm.
Though in my case my wife did not care nor believe I was autistic.
I don't have an answer to your question but thought I should comment on the use of functioning labels. There is some movement to get away from that kind of language. Perhaps this article will be of interest. autisticadvocacy.org/2010/05/a-true-story-and-a-little-lesson-about-functioning-level/
