I'm an Aspie and a Special Ed Para at a public Middle School. I work with some ASD kids.

During distance learning, they are asking us to make course content for our kids.

Here is some subject matter I want to address:

Intro
1. Defining the autism spectrum
2. Correcting Autism Myths with Facts
3. The "neurodiversity" framework as an alternative to "disorder"/deficit-based thinking

Living on the "Wrong Planet"
1. Your protections and rights
2. Academic skills & strategies
3. Social skills & strategies

Any thoughts? Ideas? Additions? Insights?

Welcome. Are you familiar with the Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM pronounced phonetically as "awesome" ) which is located in St. Paul like you are? They have a great website with a lot of helpful information and links to give you ideas.
