While I'm generally for living and letting live and I also think we need tools that aren't made for four years and then the other party abuses them, I think we need something for incredibly outlier situations such as a politician knowingly and willfully selling us out to another country, willfully and deliberately engaging in class domination by away of drafty bills, for bureaucrats who make the world go through a strange destructive dance just to discover that the dance only had to happen because the liable party for the initial problem was put in charge, when it's literally just about rolling crap downhill and making the poor and middle class suffer for the moral failings of leadership - I think really theatric forms of justice, like in the Sumerian and Roman sense, might still have a place.
Think of it like this - politician A sells a top secret military technology to enemy nation B which sets us back and causes Americans to die. Politician A would be a candidate. The problem right now is that politician A would be protected by their party, right or wrong, and so nothing happens and they know they can get away with it. Best answer - the opposite party needs to be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt, with evidence in their own correspondences, that they knew exactly what they were doing and meant to do it. If the opposite party can sufficiently prove malice I don't think their host party should be able to defend them, they'd just need to figure out who they'll put in the next primary to replace them because politician A will be in an urn.
I know - there's a mentality that hates this kind of thing unconditionally, sees it as regressive and believes that it would be a return to a dark age. I think we're going to end up here anyway if we let 'anything go' from the top. The high standard of proving willful malice is the caveat. That and when dealing with true self-absorbed idiots that kind of gruesome death as a possibility is something they'll respond do - they understand fear and pain quite well, just that it's about the only thing they understand because understanding anything else doesn't help them klepto-max.

Awe , here I thought it was a thread on Merrill Lynches bronze bull mascot ? perhaps in some distant way? it could be associated.. Big business stock market, banking type. Seems a touch Ironic .....

I'm guessing that's a 'bulls' vs. 'bears' thing. They could always stamp a corporate endorsement on the bronze bull though!
