Kenny Wallace wins for autism

If NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace gets any luckier, then he should find a way to bottle his good fortune and sell it.

Wallace, one of the most visible drivers in the sport, won the Mobil High-Endurance Poker Challenge at the Golden Nugget. His treasure chest was $50,000, which he donated to the Autism Society of America.
“It’s pretty incredible to win $50,000 in Vegas playing poker,” Wallace said. “Then to turn around and give it to the Autism Society of America just gives me goose bumps.”

Wallace and Shane Wilson, crew chief for Nextel Cup driver Travis Kvapil, were the final competitors. Wallace placed two pairs, twos and sevens, on the table and walked away the winner after five hours of poker. Wallace advanced to the championship by defeating the five other motorsports personalities at his table in the first round of the tournament. He was one of six competitors in the championship round.

Wallace will drive the Stacker 2 Ford in Saturday’s Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He is ranked eighth in the NASCAR Busch Series Drivers’ Standings.
