You don't come across as a bad uncle, i think. It is normal to not understand children's talk, i struggle with it too with friends' kids. I also think it is normal to be annoyed by tantrums or meltdowns. Even parents get their patience tested sometimes. For example my friend who has a 4 yo son somet...

Is it that you feel awkward and don't know how to communicate with children in general, or because you can't communicate with your nephew in particular? Growing up, i was not really maternal and did not know how to act around small children. Then i met my friend's daughter and i noticed that i adore...

I went through severe childhood abuse and some forms of neglect. As a child they said I had conduct disorder. I don't have emotional empathy for humans. I have a fair amount of emotional empathy for animals though. I can't deal with descriptions of animal abuse. I have a cat at home. I take good ca...

I also feel this way. There is nothing wrong with it, when it comes to having childlike hobbies and stuff. But having a hard time learning social cues is a bit dangerous. I tend to be very naive and dont understand when people are lying. So i always keep my guard up in order to not get scammed and t...

I know what you mean, OP. Sometimes people seem like emotionless machines to me. I guess most people are just better at regulating their emotions or understanding them, have actual support systems, and are better at dealing with changes. But i am pretty sure the one who was charged with manslaughter...

I think maybe it is a trauma response, from being bullied or mistreated for not having social skills. So people become recluses. To be fair i dont understand what "social skills" refer to. If it is trying to communicate in a NT-like manner, like smiling and making eye contact when speaking...

I think you should see a doctor. Is it possible to have a social worker who will help you also?

I keep all my passwords in the same notebook, and on my phone's notes app. Though at my phone they are written in a way only i can understand.

Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you also. I also feel like that, like i am the only person left in the world somet...
