I love all weather as long as it's warm. I have an innate aversion to winter.

Hmmmm....I don't know. I see issues as black and white.. I lost alot of friends over the years because I was uncompromising in that respect... but for me, I see the world as inherently good, with just a few bad apples mixed in. My hubby, who's NT, sees humankind as wretched and thinks the world is g...

I remember my dreams in great detail. In fact, I recently went through a time when I had a bout of nightmares....I had to take a Tylenol PM before bed to keep myself from remembering my dreams in the morning. It worked really well; it was more effective than I thought it would be.

I have irrational fears. But I also have past experience with OCD, specifically pure-obsessional OCD so this is all too familiar to me. I have heard that OCD and AS can go hand in hand, but I don't know if that's what you're experiencing, or if it's not OCD but part of your AS dx....can't say for su...

Yup. Most of the time I can pass for NT. I can keep the rhythm of conversation pretty well, make what seems like genuine eye contact (ie. not forced, even though it is), keep interruptions down to a minimum, etc. But when I'm stressed, I rock back and forth alot. trace figure 8s with my finger on th...

I love bouncing! I bought myself one of those air-filled bouncy balls with a handle that are adult sized. I loved it! I ordered mine when I bought my kids their own. It was so much fun bouncing around the house with it. I also bounce when I'm excited, or if I'm waiting on line I'll lightly bounce on...

I also stare at people in "THE EYE" I don't look in both the eyes, just one. It is really confusing when I talk to people with a wandering eye - I don't know which one to look at. I do this too. I stare in their right eye when I feel that I'm expected to make eye contact. If they have a lazy right ...

I'm sorry you're being treated unfairly. I don't have much more to add, but just wanted to tell you that I feel badly about that. :( I definitely hope things start looking up for you soon.

My own 2 cents: You know yourself better than any doctor ever could. I believe that doctors will sometimes shy away from certain dx's because they can't/won't look past the fact that certain criteria doesn't line up (ie. being female, etc). A good doctor will take this all into consideration and wil...

But it's so weird I don't like affection from my own mother or grandparents....only my dad and my boyfriend! Anyone else think it's weird? Maybe it's just me...I'm weird. lol. =\ My guess is that you CHOOSE your boyfriend. You are born into your family. People think there should be natural affectio...

I didn't read all the responses so bear with me (on my way to bed).... But I wanted to say very quickly that I think it's pretty normal for ppl with AS to feel this way....I think it's hard for us to masquerade to everyone else and act as they're expecting us to....NTs expect us to have a certain am...

I'm so freakin' relieved I found this thread!! I had the same thing as a child. I'd lie in bed and my room would be dark, and I'd see what would be like dark inkblots floating around, changing shape, moving closer or farther away from me. It was kinda spooky and fun in the same respect. I don't see ...

Welcome to our world! :D Seriously, ever since I was a little kid, I've had BIG obsessions with video games. Like, ever since the Commodore 64 came out I've had to play them. My worst obsessive one was World of Warcraft. I started playing in 2006 and finally walked away January 2010. The urge to pla...

I'm glad you posted this! My rocking has gotten much worse than it was when I was a kid. But, I've also got alot of extra pressures on me that I didn't have before. So I totally subscribe to the increased stress theory. :)
